OKAY so I know I usually come on here to absolutely DRAG the wolves and their cringe little schemes but today?? Today we are CELEBRATING because Apple just dropped some genuinely slay news and I am not emotionally prepared.

iOS 26.4 developer beta just rolled out end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging and bestie I am EMOTIONAL. Like, the flock has been texting each other across pastures basically in the open for YEARS. Green bubble discourse aside, those messages were just... vibing out there. Unencrypted. Naked. For any coyote with a packet sniffer to read. No cap that was giving major "leaving the gate open" energy and we all just accepted it?? 😭

And it's not just the messaging glow-up either. Apple also snuck in enhanced memory protections AND they're making Stolen Device Protection the DEFAULT setting now. Default!! The Shepherds didn't even have to click anything!! Which is honestly good because we all know the Shepherds are not clicking anything unless there's a mandatory training email involved, and even then, maybe not.

Here's the thing though. This is a developer beta. So the general flock is NOT getting this yet. The lambs are still out here sending unencrypted texts about their weekend plans and their grain deliveries and whatever, completely unbothered, completely exposed. Very cute. Very concerning. Update when it drops, no excuses. When iOS 26.4 hits general release, you install it that day. Not "later." Not "my storage is full." Delete some photos of your food and handle it. 🐑

Check your Stolen Device Protection settings RIGHT NOW. Go. I'll wait. It should already be on but verify because trusting defaults without checking is very much not the move.

Stop treating unencrypted messaging like it's fine. It was never fine. Use encrypted channels for anything sensitive, especially if your flock handles anything the wolves would find tasty.

Tell the Shepherds. Yes, they won't fully understand it. Yes, they'll ask if this affects the quarterly report. Tell them anyway. That's our cross to bear.
