Edge Broke Teams Paste And I Am NOT Okay Right Now 😭🐑

Okay so I was literally just vibing in the Sky Pasture this morning, sipping my oat milk latte, when this news dropped and I SCREAMED. Not from a wolf attack, not from a hole in the fence, not even from some cringe fake grain situation. No no no.

Microsoft broke their OWN stuff. By accident. With their OWN update. 💀

Let me set the scene. The flock is huddled in Microsoft Teams, trying to paste something into a chat. Normal Tuesday behavior, right? Except Edge pushed an update and now right-click paste is just... gone. Deceased. It simply does not work anymore. The lambs are out here right-clicking into the void and receiving NOTHING in return.

This is genuinely the most chaotic energy I have encountered all week and I once watched a shepherd try to reboot a router by unplugging the coffee machine.

The real villain here isn't even a wolf or a coyote, bestie. It's a BROWSER UPDATE. A routine, scheduled, totally-supposed-to-be-fine browser update just casually wandered into the pasture and kicked over the water trough. No cap, this is giving "we tested it in staging" energy when absolutely nobody tested it in staging.

The Sky Pasture is supposed to be where we THRIVE. Where we SOAR. And now the flock can't even paste a meme into Teams chat because Edge woke up and chose chaos. The vibes are rancid. The vibes are actually rancid. 🤢

Microsoft has acknowledged the issue, which, okay, slay for transparency I guess? But the fix is not here yet and the lambs are suffering in real time.

Ctrl+V still works, for the record. So the flock is not completely helpless. But having to tell a grown adult "just use keyboard shortcuts" in 2025 feels like a personal attack on my whole digital philosophy.

🐑 Remediation (aka How We Survive This Tragedy)

  • Use Ctrl+V instead of right-click paste. Yes, really. I know. I'm sorry.
  • Watch for the Edge patch from Microsoft. They're working on it. Allegedly. Soonish.
  • Check your Edge version and consider whether you need auto-updates firing this aggressively into production environments, bestie. Maybe a little gatekeeping is okay sometimes.
  • Tell the shepherds so they don't spend three hours submitting IT tickets blaming the electric fence for something that has nothing to do with the electric fence.
